Gold Record
Sometimes called the Golden Era of the LP, the late 1960’s to early 1970’s were huge for vinyl album sales. With records such an important part of youth culture, it’s not surprising that pinball manufacturers would use popular music themes to attract players.
This work by Christian Marche seems to acknowledge the popularity of the music industry, but in a very general, non-specific way. Marche was a talented artist and was adept at emulating a variety of styles for his pinball work. The featured album covers closely resemble the style of Milton Glaser, who with a handful of other artists popularized psychedelic art.
